Design duo Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto have established an international reputation as innovative and influential textile and fashion designers since starting their business in 1992. They are London's most versatile polymaths - always pushing the boundaries of print and design.
Eley Kishimoto forged their partnership in the early 90’s and have displayed their work on the catwalks of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen. Although primarily reknowned for their fashion line the design team continues to work within textile design with work for the likes of Ratti, World Textiles and Sanei in their impressive portfolio.
Bold graphic prints and naive patterns with strong colour sensibility may have been the starting point for their mainline collection, but they have developed their design sensibility into myriad areas since then. Already big on the international design scene and having previously ventured into other related fields such as interiors and architecture; new projects underway include Cacharel Spring/Summer 2009 Collection, Somerset House Exhibition, Kimono development in Japan, Jewellery and Bag line, Ruby Motorcycle Helmets & a further Globe-Trotter Collaboration.
With so many strings to their creative bow, it is easy to see how they have gained their reputation as the patron saints of print.
